If you are looking for a make money working from home opportunity then the pitfalls you will encounter are in a word - enormous. We’re not talking about the lack of opportunities but the exact opposite - there are thousands upon thousands of home business opportunities to choose from.

so which one do you pick? How to you choose the one best suited to you? The question you should be asking is how do I avoid the bad opportunities…the ones just out to take my money and give nothing in return. Welcome to the real world of home business opportunity seekers.

The biggest problem is getting stuck on a merry-go-round of opportunities - that is, going from one to another, spending lots of money to buy in and then jumping ship when something else comes along promising greater riches in faster time.

Network Marketing Opportunities

Right now, network marketing is one of the best home business modules to look at. Why? Well, things are changing fast within an industry which has developed a notorious reputation over the years. We won’t go into why that is only to say it has something to do with prospecting methods but right now, the internet and network marketing are being used in the same breath and the opportunity is enormous.

The prospecting landscape has changed for the better and internet network marketing has never had it so good from a lead generation perspective.

The problem with someone fresh on the scene for the first time is trying to figure out if an opportunity presented to them is all it’s being promoted as. Here’s the point we want to make in this article.

You need to distinguish between those opportunities which just sell the dream and those which sell both the dream and the how to. Think about this for a moment. If you are drawn into an opportunity because you were taken with what it can give you that’s great. But one of the first things you want to check before signing on is will there be a blueprint or how to for you to follow which will show you how to achieve your dream.

Make Sure You Get Training

If you sign on and have a ton of information shoved at you and are then left to figure it out for yourself then look for something else. It’s one of the big problems with those selling information for profit online today. Many believe the majority know how to sell a dream but fall down badly when it comes to showing people how to get there.

There’s even a suggestion that this suits information sellers because it gives them the opportunity to sell another piece of the puzzle a little later down the track and then again and again and again. In an inter network marketing business you want to be making sure that you have a system to plug into and this should include lots of training on how to both build web properties and market them.

Tips To Successfully Generate Income From Niche Based Affiliate Marketing

Dec 15th, 2008 Posted in Marketing and Advertising | no comment »

In niche based internet affiliate marketing you decide that you’re going to sell other people’s merchandise. You’ll find literally hundreds of thousands of products on the web in a surprising number of fascinating niche markets. The number of markets are in a very real sense unlimited. In order to succeed in in niche-based affiliate marketing, you will need to acquire numerous skills such as traffic-generation, how to write sales copy, how to use tools such as autoresponders and such. Although niche-based affiliate marketing often is extremely profitable often it is very maddening since there are so many elements that one has to put together.

If you’re planning to pursue internet niche affiliate marketing don’t forget to work at it as a true business. Too often people think it is actually a simple way for generating income without much work.

Here are 5 ideas that should help you be profitable with niche based internet affiliate marketing:

  1. Do your own writing. If you can write your own ads, articles and reviews instead of using pre-formatted ones offered by affiliate programs, you will be setting yourself apart from other affiliates.
  2. If you build an email list. If you build an email list you’ve accomplished the most difficult and significant part of the affiliate marketing business. You’ve acquired email addresses and built a subscriber database. Are you taking advantage of the invaluable resource or have you let your subscribers forget about you?
  3. What is working? What is not? Analyze what is working to help you attain your goals and what is not working. For example, if you want to attain $75,000 in sales but you are spending 50% of your time on administrative duties then your time is not being well spent.
  4. Do not believe the myth of easy PPC marketing. Pay-per-click (PPC) search engines are a great source of traffic, but there is way more to know than just that you should buy keywords that match the offering you are promoting.
  5. Use Multiple domains for multiple niches. Most people doing niche affiliate marketing have multiple domains and multiple websites. You can have many domains if you have varied topics, and each of whom can warrant a website of its own.

Yes it’s true that niche based internet affiliate marketing can generate substantial profits. However you must put in the work and it is a respectable vocation.

Work consistently and watch what is working and things that are unproductive. You might even maintain a notebook in order to your wins and losses. You’d be stunned by things they are doing that have very little appreciable effect on revenue. Test it yourself and see what I mean.

Starting A Small Online Business - Dangers Of Starting A Small Online Business

Nov 24th, 2008 Posted in Marketing and Advertising | one comment »

Week 7/52: A cup of tea

More and more people are turning their attentions online as a way of generating income. It makes sense and with thousands going online for the first time every day, starting a small business online could be the best move you ever make.

But let’s be clear, there are plenty of pitfalls to be aware of and if you jump in without knowing what they are then it could well hurt you in the hip pocket. One of the areas worth looking at is the internet marketing arena.

How can you become part of this and profit from it. Internet marketing is growing as an industry by the day and the great thing is, there are niches within the IM umbrella you can specialize in without having to learn each and every one of the avenues open to you. And this is where people often get into trouble.

It’s to do with focus and trying to take on a range of different roles means lack of productivity and no padding to one’s bottom line. But that aside, there’s also the minefield one has to negotiate to actually get started. There are plenty of people willing to tell you about starting a business online but beware, the majority really only want your money.

5 Things To Be Aware Of Starting Online

We have complied a shortlist of points to be aware of before plunging head long into a small business so you don’t “get your fingers burnt.”

1. Be aware of scammers. That’s straight up because there are many unscrupulous operators online ready to take your money for no return.

2. If something sounds too good to be true then you know, it usually is. There are many people caught off guard every day by some amazing claims to earn big money online for little outlay. Just use common sense.

3. What do you know about making money online? Do you know someone who has or is starting a small business online? Just as with traditional business, experience counts for a lot. If you dive into something without knowing the mechanics of how it works then you are putting yourself at risk of getting burnt.

4. Internet marketing is a diverse small business to get into. One of the mistakes many failed online business entrepreneurs make is to be all over the place with their focus and literally try and do too many things at once. If you are serious about internet marketing then concentrate on one aspect of it at a time whether it be affiliate marketing, eBay, internet network marketing, website building etc.

5. When looking at a product always do a review. There are no shortage of how to products out there promising big returns. However, like any business, starting a small online business requires a plan and a non get rich quick attitude. Always search for reviews of a product or service but beware those reviews with a vested interest. One of the best avenues is to check online forums dedicated to business opportunities online and you can do a search for these at http://www.omgili.com

Small Business Idea - Why Your Small Business Idea Could Backfire

Nov 22nd, 2008 Posted in Business and Management, Marketing and Advertising, Online Business, Promotion and Marketing, Work | no comment »

If you are in the market for a small business idea then you don’t have to look far. It’s just a matter of jumping online and typing home business opportunities or make money online and you will be presented with millions of search results.

So what now? How do you choose and who do you contact? Do you need to part with money just to get more information? Starting to look like a bad idea huh? Well the truth is, looking for a small home business idea online can be a minefield of information but sifting through the rubbish to find the nuggets of gold means using a little commonsense. The best piece of advice which will serve you well is “if it’s too good to be true then it usually is.”

Thousands upon thousands of people are going online everyday looking for something better in life and home businesses are top of their list. And the “neon signs” are everywhere about how quickly you can get to thousands of dollars a month.

Beware The Too Good To Be True Offers

But the truth is, it can be a literal minefield if you don’t know where to tread and while the waters may seem fine on the surface, there is more than a shark or two lurking beneath.

One of the areas people are attracted too as a small business idea includes the survey arena. Paid surveys have become big business and people are earning easy money online. However, those making money are more than likely experienced survey takers who have gone through some due diligence to get where they are.

So where are they exactly? Are surveys a good concept as a small business idea? Probably no. While some are making in excess of four figures a month the majority are not. In reality, the paid survey arena is ideal for those looking to buffer their bottom line every month. In other words, to add a little extra to their main income.

The Image Of Surveys

It can be a tough place to “cut one’s teeth on” especially as the image of surveys has been questionable for sometime. This is unfortunate for those legitimate players who have seen the image tarnished by some unscrupulous operators. But that’s not to say there isn’t money to be made.

If you are considering surveys as a idea for small business just keep in mind as a vehicle to earn a big income every year it may not be suitable but worth the look as a handy part time income generator. But there is a learning curve so make sure you perform plenty of due diligence before taking the plunge.

Tucsonans get rewarded with free gas

Nov 20th, 2008 Posted in Marketing and Advertising, Online Business, Promotion and Marketing, Work | no comment »

Anthony Cabrera reports
Tucsonans get rewarded with free gas

Posted: Oct 31, 2008 02:35 AM

About 300 cars lined up at a Midtown gas station this morning to get their hands on some free gas.

It was Allstate Insurance’s way of thanking Tucson drivers for being among the nation’s safest. They gave away about $8,000 of gas during the promotion between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Travis Hungerford is one of many who woke up early for the giveaway. He waited an hour for 10 gallons of free gas.  A moment he calls a godsend and worth the wait.

“Gas these days is like the difference between survival,” Hungerford said. “And it’s very important for low income families to get gas.”

He and his wife have a newborn and things are really tight at home. Just like it is for Roxanne, who’s celebrating her 22nd birthday.  Now it’s extra special, because she’ll be able to drive up to Phoenix to be with her family.

“I don’t get paid until tomorrow and I didn’t know how I was going get there, and I heard about this last night, it’s going help out so much. I think I’m even going have enough to get back,” Roxanne said.

About 300 people waited for the free gas. Perhaps the most excited? Customer number one who got in line five-and-a-half hours before the giveaway.

Get The Right Skills And Consultants For Your Business

Nov 18th, 2008 Posted in Business and Management, Marketing and Advertising, Work | no comment »

{I had some dreams..

Image by Capture Queen ™ via Flickr

Running your own organisation has never been easy but in today’s unstable economical climate the need to succeed has become more difficult to achieve. Most new businesses often struggle to survive past their first year and you don’t tend to feel safe until you have reached the 10 year mark. This is why it is vital to not only understand the needs of your customers and employees but it is also important to take care of the needs of your organisation. Most business men will have covered the typical areas by hiring accountants to sort out the finances and taxes but many business owners often take on various roles in a company instead of asking for outside help.

If you find that you are in charge of your organisation’s marketing, public relations and advertising as well as running the IT services and telecom services then you are already taking too much on. What you really need to do is find a good business consultancy that will advise you on all of these issues. Experts such as these will be able to take most of the time and stress out of sorting out these problems. Experts already have years of experience that speed up the process and simply by analysing your business they will be able to tell you which areas you need to improve and make changes in. A good business consultant will be able to sort out your telecom and information technology systems as well as organise hospitality functions to help get you on your way.

Marketing is vital for all businesses. You need to make sure that the public recognise your businesses name and logos in order to build your brand awareness. For this reason you need to be seen in every type of media consistantly. Repetition is the key to a good marketing campaign so you need to build your presence across a range of media. You need to use media such as televison adverts, magazines and newspapers so that everyone can see your business and your key messages. This can be a hard thing to do if you don’t have the experience of dealing with advertisers and understanding exactly what you are getting for your money and how you can measure its effect. This is why it is a good idea to use a marketing consultancy as they will have all of the tools and experience required to get you where you need to be. It is a good idea to use a local marketing consultant especially if your goal is a local market because they will have knowledge of the area and it will be easy to meet. For example if your organisation is targeting the Dorset area then it would be a good idea to use a marketing consultancy in Dorset.

Another vital part of a advertising campaign is to have a strong presence on the world wide web. When people hear about your business through a TV advert or newspaper article, chances are they won’t look into your company immediately. Most of the time they will look to the Internet for details which is why it is important to use SEO and pay per click advertising. These will allow you to be found for your company name in the search engines as well as for key phrases that relate to the sort of products and services your business offers.

It is also important as a business owner not to forget to learn. One of the common mistakes made by business owners is to become lazy and just get someone else to do it. This is bad as you need to always be learning about your industries developments so your organisation stays at the top of the industry. It also doesn’t harm to brush up on other business skills. If you are the kind of person who is often holding seminars, meetings or board meetings then you may want to look at improving these skills. presentation skills training will benefit you by allowing you to make the best out of any situation where you need to get an idea across to a large group of people. Whether it is a small staff meeting or if you are trying to sell your business services to a large conference hall, good presentation skills are key.

The key to having a simple system that works online constitutes some of the following:

The number one key, I think is finding a niche that is profitable, but just not any niche, but one that will make you money at Simple Online Systems to make money.

Then you need to pick keywords much more precisely. You don’t want to hear the crap that the gurus will tell you about finding low hanging fruits (long tail keywords only) because some of those keywords phrases don’t monetize. The people who are searching for those keyword phrases may only want information and not necessarily a product.

Don’t waste time on a bunch of junk keywords that are not directly related to the product that you are promoting. You need the best keywords and in order to find these, you have to know where to look.

Get your pay per click campaign in high gear. Believe me, this is where you will make money faster especially if you have targeted keywords that will convert. This includes have excellent ad copy. If you have these two components, then there is no way that you won’t make a lot of money online. It does not matter what type of PPC platform you are running your ads. You will convert if you have the right keywords and the best ads.

Make sure you automatically create the landing page. You don’t want to upset Google with outlandish pages that don’t fit their specifications. You will get slapped by Google and your ads will disappear, which cost you much more out of pocket cost to recover these ads. Take a look at Affiliate Marketing Made Simple.

Tracking is very important to pay per click ad campaigns. How are you going to know which ads are performing if you don’t create a tracking plan? As you go along, tracking will help you to make changes and refine your ads. You have to know which keywords put more money in your pocket and those are the keywords you will have to focus on. However, you need automatic tracking so that you don’t have to do this manually because it can get very time consuming and confusing.

Once you have these significant recommendations into place such as, then you keep doing it over and over again because if it works, why change what is working? And this is currently working for smart marketers who know how important keyword marketing really is. This is the kind of online marketing system that is already proven to work.

Your next step after your keyword research results have been successful is to find the most profitable product that sells. You can start out as an affiliate marketer until you can create your own product through the learning curve.

If you would like to learn more about simple internet marketing systems that are already working, then I invite you to visit my blog at Make Money with Proven Online Systems. to see my recommendations.

What Ought To Know About a SIP Provider?

Nov 13th, 2008 Posted in Marketing and Advertising | one comment »

Session Initiation Protocol

Image via Wikipedia

Many people think that a SIP provider is nothing more than a method of VOIP, voice over internet. However, in reality, it is so much more. It is used to take communications in real time to the next level.

It goes beyond the simple level of voice and takes our communication beyond voice as well. First what is SIP Voip? SIP is the abbreviation for a protocol known as Session Initiation. While VOIP uses this protocol, along with many others to make it work, there is so much more.

Do you have an idea that a lot of sofware programs that give voice, video, and text utilize SIP providers? It also shows that programs such as iChat and Skype use these companies to have their programs running.

This allows for not only voice chatting in real time, just as if you were talking over the telephone, but also allows for video conferencing as well in the real time.

To get started using an SIP Provider, all you really need is a program and an address. This might be an IP address, SIP address, or even something as simple as your email address. What happens is that you or any person wanting to call you will enter your address into their SIP enabled software program. The provider then connects their software to your software or vice versa and voila you are ready to go.

Many SIP providers and software offer the ability to use features such as voice mail. What is great about this feature is that if you are trying to reach someone who is not currently available, you will hear their recording and have the ability to leave a message.

Your callers will have the exact capability.Should they leave a message, it will be sent to your email as an attachment, which lets you get the message, hassle-free and hear it.

SIP is taking the internet and telephone world by storm. What makes the service so great is that it can be used at a very affordable cost, which may be free or extremely cheap.

Either way it is so much easier on the checkbook than your traditional telephone service that rises with each feature you have or want and with all of the fees, taxes, and other costs associated can be extremely expensive each and every month.

It is a well known fact that both newcomers and veterans in the corporate world love the game of Golf and this makes gifting ideas are relatively easy for anyone wanting to go shopping for them. There are several golf related gift items available in the market, not just the golf-balls and the golf-clubs, beside the typical golf accessories.

There are attractive leather golf caddies on the market that would make great executive golf themed gift ideas, and they’re even roomy enough to carry all the essentials for a golf outing. And get this, there are even devices available that let you spin your golf-ball in such a way that it actually adjusts the heavy areas of the golf-ball to make it perfectly balanced (as opposed to wobbly and inaccurate). Can you imagine? Technology is moving pretty fast, and now your boss’ golf game benefit from it!

Have you thought of GPS for golf? Well, even that is a reality now! GPS units are used in golf these days. Just as the GPS units in cars, there are GPS units meant for golf and the more expensive models contain more features. Thanks to the satellite technology, these GPS units can actually be used to accurately measure the distances on the golf course even up to a few yards. It doesn’t end there just; these GPS units work on any course in the world!

And no matter which course in the world you play, a great tool on the course is a push cart. The typical tools on the course are bags that you carry on your shoulder, or clumsy pull-carts. A push cart is a great gift idea because when pushing the cart, you are showing how environmentally conscious you are.

Those of you who like to go for more elegant and technology-less accessories, choose from an assortment of office accessory items. All these come in eye-pleasing packaged sets, and gifting them to the golfing executive will help him show his love for golf. As one can see, a direct accessory for the game is not a necessity; it could be just any item that clearly commemorates it (e.g. a clock, lamp, etc.).

So what kind of gifts makee the best accessories and gifts for golfers? Well you really need to think about the person in mind, because there are golf gifts for all kinds of executives. Whether it be one that’s about the latest gadget, or whether it’s just someone who’d appreciate a well made leather caddy.
